Sports Culture in
South Africa has grown into a truly unique and amazing
phenomenon in the world today! Be it the
sound of vuvuzelas, or a group of fans (clad
in their team strip) awaiting a taxi to take them to the
game, sport in South Africa has become a way of life; a
common driving force that spurs the competitive spirit
and unites millions of supporters.
Total South Africa has investment millions
into South African sport including football, cricket and motorsport.
Papadi Marketing was tasked with the role of bringing
to life the culture of sport through effective marketing activities
that could create value for shareholders and supporters alike.
South Africa is the birthplace of the "makarapa"
where construction helmets are given a new lease of life
after they have been sculptured into a work of art and branded
with your favourite team or corporate giant. Started in 1979
by die-hard football fanatic Lux Baloyi, the helmets have
become much sought after both here and abroad!
Papadi were
also proud to host a team of talented young mural artists
who captivated the imagination of some of South Africa's
house-hold names such as SAA, Kickoff and Total; and if
you look really closely you might just spot our very own
Danny Jordaan!
